The queen of salsa,
Celia Cruz,
Her voice was like an enchanting melody
She sung, walked, and spoke of love,
And life
Her dream of becoming a singer
Wasn’t 100% supported
Some tried to sabotage
Still she rose above it all
Exiled from her home, Cuba
Mourned the loss of family and friends
Yet and still she stood strong
Stayed true to her art,
Her people,
Cuba.
She loved them all.
Sung with all her heart to them
Until she was called home.
