My Heartbeat

Who said you can find

A little light under our sun

Well I found it in front of me

Today….

The glare from her smile

Quench my thirst on this hot

Summers day

It was her words of sincerity

Like charity

She gives where its most needed

Once this heart

Would only beat for one

Myself…

But the rhythm of hers

Displays like we were a drum line

She was that snare

That was always on time

As my bass was her taste

We marched together

Like Martin Luther King and others

Once did on Washington. DC.

She freed me

From a single man paradox

Locked away in his own defeat

She shined in such away

The first time in my life

I felt being alone

Wasn’t quite okay ….
