A Night In Miami

One night in Miami
At the Fontainebleau Hotel
Meeting of the minds
Began
The topic of the industry
And all its misery
Took flight for us to fight
We were tired of being
Bullied
Our meeting was secret
Nobody knew our motives

X marks the  spot
Even though it  was dark
And this hell was hot
2pac was the inspirational
general
We were young soldiers
As we fought on different planes
To maintain
When they only wanted to drain
Our creativity
While he was on
Stage  preaching
I was reaching
For humanity to take heed
To our ghetto sound gospel
The Messiah  was amongst
The ones who needed him
The most
So our spirits stayed close
It was a time
Where we were going to share
The stage
I was ready finally
To see and hear
My brother again
We were going to represent
THE  MOST HIGH …together
Having solidarity
Praying for the conditions
Of our people
It never happened
The powers that be
Locked him down
He still kept his head up
Never dropped his crown
Even though they caught him slipping’
He got out of rehab steady ripping
Stereotypes and naysayers
Trying to say he was deadbeat
But he proved
He was a great dad
His crime was just killing beats
With his lyrical skills of poetry
The Most High gave him a sign
Compelling him to have
Bible study online
Reached so many souls
Different places but same goals
My brother without the same mother
Same father in heaven though
So it hurt me to see his
True legacy and his presence go
The beat machine that once had
The ultimate kingdom flow
